Simon's Challenge is a challenge I have started up since moving to my new spot in Simon's Town. The challenge consists of 3 events a cycle, a run and of course a paddle. All the events are done according to a standard individual time trial  format your time for each of the disciplines is taken and recorded as a percentage. (0% equals fastest time in that event) your percentages are then added together to determine your overall position. The only thing at stake is your pride.

The Ride - Takes place above the house, it consists of a short sharp climb up the mountain over a distance of                roughly 400m. It is to be completed on the Giant boulder provided. It is by far the most technical out of the events but demands both skill, heart and legs (the bigger the better). In this event you are allowed off your bike for a total distance of 8 meters.

The Run - Takes place above the old town on the staircase to Just Nuisance's grave. The rules are simple get to the top as fast as possible. The staircase is roughly 1km in length and it is said that you climb half of that in altitude. This event requires a good pacing strategy, it is by far the most taxing on the body. Your legs will burn even if you just walk it.

The Paddle - Takes place in Simon's Town harbor over a 700m course. The course is to be completed in my boat, if you are not happy with the one of the extensive boat options you will have to swim it. By far the most picturesque of disciplines the course taking you in and out of the yachts moored in the marina.

So if you in the area and keen pull in, give it a go!
