Smiles and Tears

Just finished my 200m K2 semi final, we finished 3rd in a time of 32.816s which was just not fast enough to qualify for the final. We had a really good race first out the blocks and leading for the first 100m then we just seemed to slow up a fraction compared to our competition and came in just behind France and Latvia. It is really disappointing to miss the final but we gained a heap of knowledge and experience. Looking to London 2012 we look certain to qualify our boat as far qualification standards are concerned but at this point in time we chasing medals and that's wheere the disappointment comes in. At this present moment we are less than 0.8 seconds off a gold medal.

That's enough of the depressing stuff, tomorrow we race the K2 500m final. I will be giving it everything as it may be the last time that I get to race it internationally. Next year as well as the Olympic year we will be focused purely on the Olympic distance of 200m. Hopefully we can make it a good one.
