Portugal

Hayley, Marcus, Ruby and I had a really good week of training in Portugal. The hotel and training venue were top class. The dams location was really cool for me, it felt just like training back home in Hazyview with the all the forests and mirror like water.
The main reason for going to Portugal was to get some technical support from our boat manufacturer, Nelo. When you work with these guys you can see why they the best at what they do. They are constantly innovating and tacking the sport to a new level. We managed to come up with a few solutions to our problems and hopefully this will shave off a bit more time and get us onto the podium. Below is a pic of a factory worker cuttining our boats nose off, at this point in time the boat had just come out of the mold and was looking like the most beautiful boat I'd seen. A few hours later Shaun ripped his cockpit off, by the end of the day it was looking pretty old. We get the full custom version next week.
After the hard week of training Hayley, Shaun and I took a 60km drive to the highest mountains in Portugal and decided to see what it felt like to swim in a frozen lake...It was no surprise to find that it felt crazy cold. I cant fathom how Lewis managers 1km swims in conditions far colder than this check out his site he just finished his swim below everest this morning. www.lewispugh.com
